Chief Executive Officer

Gregor Kent

As the principal founder of the company, Gregor has led the company since its inception in 1989. Before starting the Research Instruments Group of Companies, Gregor had studied chemistry at the University of Massachusetts after which he began his career with Waters Inc. in the USA, eventually holding various management positions in service and sales during his career with Waters and Millipore in both Europe and Asia. Since 1989, Gregor has been leading and building the RI Group of Companies including Research Instruments Pte Ltd (Singapore), Research Instruments Sdn Bhd (Malaysia), RI Technologies Ltd (Thailand), and most recently Research Instruments Co. Vietnam Ltd.

Chief Financial Officer

Eric Tay

Eric Tay joined the company as the Chief Financial Officer in 2004. Prior to this, he was the Regional Financial Controller for Mobile 365 (now acquired by SAP), leader in the global delivery and settlement of mobile messaging interoperability, and the management and distribution of mobile content. He was a senior manager in Lo Hock Ling & Co, a public accounting and business consulting firm, a member of LEA Global. His experience then included audit, tax, accounting services, financial, management and IT consultancy. Eric is a fellow member of Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK).

General Manager

Et Siah

Et Siah Currently serves as GM for RI’s life sciences business in Malaysia and has over 10 years of experience in the distribution of life science research products in Malaysia in areas including technical support, marketing, sales and sales management. His previous rolls at Research Instruments Sdn Bhd included Technical Applications Scientist supporting a wide range of products in Genomics and Cellular research, as Product Manager for our Affymetrix range of expression and genotyping microarrays, and Sales Manager for a full suite of instruments and consumables. Et Siah previously held roles with VWR and Treecode managing regional and local business development. Et Siah graduated with M.Sc in Molecular Biology from National University of Malaysia.
